開學在即,國內、外杏壇卻屢傳風波,台灣大學校長遴選爭議未平、日本驚傳醫科大學逢女考生必扣分劣跡,美國哈佛大學也遭控訴人為操縱入學標準、設立屏障(barriers),使得名校窄門因歧視和平權的議題再度燃起。
【名校設限淺談】
■ barrier 屏障
A: Some prestigious universities have been accused of creating barriers to exclude certain groups of applicants.
(最近有幾家國際知名學府被控設立入學屏障排擠某些族群。)
B: I heard that Tokyo Medical University deliberately restricted their number of accepted female applicants.

■ to alter 更改、變更
A: It was discovered that they have been altering female candidates' entrance exam scores since 2006.

■ diversity 多元
